This large historic colonial home was originally designed and built in 1805 as a boy’s school headed by Rev. John Sherman. Rev. John Sherman was a Unitarian minister in Barneveld. Each owner after Rev. John Sherman added wonderful additions, making this home what it is today. The land surrounding this lovely home is filled with forest greens, vibrant flowers, rolling lawn and a large trout pond.
Our guests are welcome to enjoy the front covered porch, our shaded slate patio and quiet sitting areas throughout our acres of rolling lawns. Children are welcome! We are open year round. For longer stays or a more secluded stay check out our Cottage Rental at www.crossripcottage.com where vacationers, hunters, snowmobilers and outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the lake, woods and outdoors.
